Ok, ok . . so I missed a few days!

That is what this blog is all about! I haven't been around, and have been busy with lots of other stuff!

Got Wii Fit, and really enjoy playing with it! My daughter thinks I am genius for breaking 300 on the hula hoop game.

Really isn't hard to impress these kids., . . is it?

It's almost Toast time!

Yes, that is correct! The end of the school year is quickly upon us! I can't even believe that in less than 2 weeks, I will have an unrul 9 year old home, and complaining I AM SO BORED!!!

All the camps, and activities and trips we have planned. . .the only thing that I will hear is BORED.

What to do? Well, we decided to allow her to help plan for her activities this year. It has helped a bit, but honestly, nothing like what I would have hoped!

What do you do with your kids for the summer? How do you come up with your plan?

Burning your toast - invites disaster

It is 8:06, and already 76 degrees, but this is a far cry from where we were yesterday!

At about 8:45 pm last night, the winds rose, the rain came, and the thunder and lightning came crashing down. Well, that is normal on a day when it is 100 degrees at 7 pm, and humid. But, what was different was the sheer disaster.

Trees are down, train lines are affected, and me, well, I get to work from home! And get to listen to my daughter complain this afternoon. Lucky me!

Toast in the City

It is approaching 96 in the city (New York) and it is getting a bit brutal . . .good time for toasting!

So, I have been thinking that the amount of time I spend in my office, coupled with the time it takes me to commute is one heck of a lot of time I could spend with my family.

I could be in my backyard, chasing my kid, getting stuff done around the house. . but nope, I come to do this instead!

How much will it take for me to be totally burnt out?

The heat - close to burnt

As the end of third grade approaches, we have been under the gun to figure out what to do with our kid for the summer. We have a slate of upcoming camps and experiences ready for her in a few weeks. Great, right?

Except today, they call and say school is closing early. I get it, really I do . .but we are 2 weeks away from the end of the school year. It is SO hard to get coverage for a half day of school! I work in Manhattan people!

So, this leads me to wonder. Should I consider giving up my career, and become a stay at home mom? No, I wouldn't be able to pay for my life!

So, why burnt toast?

As a mom of a 9 year old, advertising executive, workaholic, Wii Fit junky and all around great woman, I am constantly thinking about burning out! So, as I lay wide awake at 4:32 am, it hit me! I can't be alone! No way, no how! So, I decided, since I am awake at some point most nights, I am going to write a blog!

burnttoastmamas.com is the epitome of my life. I am always worried about burning out at work, I am always trying not to burn the toast, and I am a mama through and through!

Please join me as I embark on my own path of discovery, and keep coming back for snippets of my life, which is NEVER dull!
